Brunel Manor

A Midweek Break with dance workshops too!

Between the sea and the moors, but only four miles from Torquay, Brunel Manor stands in a commanding position with panoramic views of Torbay - sometimes known as the 'English Riviera'! Set in 12 acres of lovely gardens and grounds, the Manor is the ideal place to relax and experience the beauty of God's creation. Enjoy the wonderful coastal scenery or the rugged splendour of Dartmoor as you explore this lovely part of Devon.

As well as enjoying these fantastic surroundings, you can have the opportunity to join in a series of dance workshops Marie Bensley will be organising. Brunel is renowned for its midweek breaks. Great food, comfortable rooms, amazing surroundings, brilliant fellowship and dance workshops too! No previous experience is necessary; workshops include Flags, Davidic Dance, Contemporary, Prophetic Dance & more. Flags and ribbons will be supplied for your use.

The following appeared in the Newsletter of the Devon & Cornwall Region, by way of a review of the previous year’s event:- As soon as Marie Bensley's flyer fell out of my Tent of David last October I picked up the 'phone to book my place on her week's dance break in Torquay. Marie, co-ordinator of Bristol & West Region, and heading-up Flags & Banners Network, was instrumental in leading me into dance worship when we met back in 1998. I have never been without her support, her prayers and her encouragement. The joy of the Lord just shines through Marie. I knew it would be wonderful. It was! Through her we experienced the excitement of worship; we gleaned that worship was a lifestyle - Our Lord just wanted our hearts and thus she realty led us into the HEART of worship. We danced in circles, on our own, in couples, in triples, in lines. We danced Messianically, prophetically, in praise, in humility, in worship. We danced with flags, twirling banners, ribbons, material, and scarves. We danced to popular choruses, known & unknown hymns, 'up' and 'down'-tempos, the spoken word (scriptures) and psalms. Marie was gracious in her belief that we could arrange a concert for other guests of Brunel on the Thursday evening and - with her guidance we did!
And of Brunel Manor being an anointed place for dance worship? Well, a commemorative carving, in its grounds, to the great engineer is entitled "Brunel's Dance"! Confirmation indeed! At the end of our course, little wonder then that the joy of Worship we'd experienced through Marie was tangible between everyone and that our 'goodbyes' were long and tearful-with-joy, until we meet again - and we will! Thank you, thank you Marie for bringing us so much closer to our Lord with our Dance, and to each other with our Fellowship.
